Floriade is a World Horticultural Expo staged once every ten years in the Netherlands.  During the period from April until mid-October 2012, the sixth edition of Floriade will be organised in Venlo.

Each day features a cultural programme of music, dance, literature, theatre and visual art from all over the world.  Sustainable, pioneering architectural eye catchers, as never seen before, will be shown for the first time at Floriade 2012.

Please join us for our 2012 Christmas Advent Short Break to Rüdesheim, one of the prettiest towns on the Rhine in Southern Germany, boasting its own cable car for some great views of the surrounding countryside and river.

With just four local pick-ups, you will travel straight to Folkestone and through the Eurotunnel to Calais, where we begin our onward journey through Belgium and Southern Germany to the Rhine. With a great personal hostess and catering service from the time you leave until the time you arrive home, the journey will pass by more or less unnoticed, except for the ever-changing picturesque scenery. Iceland and the Northern Lights

Iceland is one of the most volcanically active countries in the world - a large island in the North Atlantic close to the Arctic Circle. The whole of the central highland plateau of the island is a beautiful but barren and uninhabitable moonscape - so much so that the first American astronauts were sent there for pre-mission training! We will stay in the centre of Reykjavik at the typically Icelandic 4* Hotel Reykjavik Centrum.

Iceland's climate is tempered by the Gulf Stream which means that Summers are mild and winters cold.

The colourful Aurora Borealis appear from September through to March, but astronomers are predicting that the Northern Lights will be some of the brightest in decades over the next few years due to a peak in the solar cycle. So 2013 is definitely the time to visit Iceland!
